Clear signage is imperative for any road or parking lot project. Big Apple Services provides the creation and installation of both standard MUTCD signs and custom signs.

We provide ADA-compliant signage as required for all lots accessible to the public.

Big Apple Services can install new signs or replace old or damaged signs. We can provide any GDOT or ADA sign that is not overhead. We offer custom signs such as street blades and more.

Types of signs

There are three main categories of signs: regulatory, warning, and guide signs, each of which have a special shape and color.

Regulatory signs: these are used to regulate traffic and include signs such as Stop, Yield, Do Not Enter, etc.

Warning signs: these are used to inform motorists and pedestrians about a given area. Examples of warning signs include Left Turn Ahead, Sharp Curve, etc.

Guide signs: these guide motorists through a given area and include vital information about the area such as interstate route markings, exit signs, and more.

ADA signage

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) maintains certain standards for signs with regard to reflectivity, design, size, mounting, and height. Displaying these signs correctly will encourage safety for motorists and pedestrians. ADA signs and pavement markings should be visible to avoid confusion and ensure safety for your patrons and your employees.

Bollard Installation

Protect your property from damage and incorrectly-parked vehicles with bollards. Bollards primarly serve as a visual guide for traffic and to mark boundaries, but they can also protect your curbs, sign posts, landscaping, lighting, or other elements of your property design. They are an alternative to wheel stops for marking the terminal point of a parking space or preventing vehicles from pulling through spaces.

Bollards are an effective way to create a roadway block or prevent access to restricted areas like bike lanes, public squares, traffic islands, cart paths, etc.

Bollards come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and we offer the provision and installation of specialty bollards. Sign posts can also be installed in bollards.

Delineators & Traffic Calming Systems

Delineators are used for traffic guidance rather than blockage. In contrast to a bollard, delineators are made of plastic and will not stop an oncoming vehicle. They are used to indicate where lanes merge or separate, to mark boundaries where visibility may be a challenge or where it is unclear where a driver should be driving. Delineators feature highly-reflective surfaces to increase visibility.
